Welcome to my Old Man’s Timber blog and website. Here I plan to share my experiences with timber restoration and land management of a very special parcel of timber in Johnson County. Old Man’s Timber is a parcel of land at the confluence of Old Man’s Creek and Old Women’s Creek in Johnson County. It has been relatively untouched for many years and currently is at the nexus between a pristine Iowa woodland and an un-managed area in need of some TLC. My wife, Miechelle, and I have been very fortunate to become stewards of this land and are beginning along the long path of woodland restoration. Although neither of us are professionals in this area, we are passionate about the land and hope to share our story through this media.
